A little of what you fancy does you good - as the old saying goes. You can do a lot with snow, and I like the stuff. You can build with it, drink it, cook with it, write with it, and have fun on it, like skiing or skating etc. Until that is you have too much of it! But like a lot of life’s larger and smaller disasters’ it can be difficult to appreciate until it touches you personally. And snow can touch you personally, its not much fun lying under a couple of tons of the stuff at the bottom of an Alp.
Closer to home, I was hit by half a ton of white stuff as it fell off a neighbours roof the other day. Luckily no harm done, but I can still hear the chorus of 'sue the git till his socks turn green.'
Call me naive, or old-fashioned, or stupid, but I don’t think life is about looking for chances to sue all and sundry at the drop of a hat. Accidents happen, and would not life be so much less stressful if we just accepted that and got on with life.
Oh, there will be people who will say that there are enough others with the 'sue every chance' attitude, and as a defense we should sue them too, motto 'do them before they do you.' I think thats sad.
Should life be about defense, continually keeping up your guard?

ReplyDeleteToo right. If you're stupid enough to fall over, why do you think someone else is to blame?
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand... it's just taken me ten attempts to post a comment on this blog. Someone's got to be in breach of contract!!!
